1․ First of all, translators receive various file formats that should be processed with different CATs. The translator need to run, translate, generate and convert them back to provide  in the required format.

For instance the translator should actively search the web to find the closest meaning of the sentence for its context. Recently, a wide scale work has been done to improve the quality of google translations. 

3. Translators get manuals, references, instructions or a predefined vocabulary to read and study before to start the translation. 

4. After the translation, the translators may obtain the automated "Quality Report" which is typically generated by various computer tools. It is necessary to check the so-called Inconsistencies, which supposes that, you should have the same translated word everywhere in the context excluding the possible synonyms. 

6. After the translation, the translator may receive the revised translation done by reviewers. This time, the translator should prepare a back report, which supposes explanations for mistakes and very often justifications for the chosen version of the translated texts. 

So, do translators require extra amount for the supplementary job. In fact, many of them do not know how to do that.

Some useful tips.

1. With old customers, the new pricing policy is not encouraging, so better to discuss it with new customers. 

2. Extra charge may be required for the PDF documents as they require much time to keep the format of the document. 

3. If you receive Alignment project, you should consider that as a separate project with supposes separate price or quote. 

4. One of the worst, but effective versions, learn to abandon the project if it requires much time or the deadlines are not real.
