The 2017 was marked in the sphere of translation. The UN General Assembly declared September 30 International Translation Day.

picture1The proposal to establish the International Translation Day was first made by the International Federation of Translators in 1991.

In its 71st session, the UN General Assembly raised the first resolution of the translation devoted to the professional translation. In this issue, both translators and interpreters have had their own unique role in demonstrating high professional skills in maintaining cultural peculiarities in translation.

The UN put forward the importance of translation as an important linguistic structure that protects the culture.

Losing the language, you lose your culture.

Globalization, invading the lives of different nations, also brings negative elements. Different homogeneous cultural elements splitt up the cultural diversity. Consequently, the role of translation was to preserve the cultural elements in such a way as to avoid the losses. It should put into practice those linguistic words, structures and sentences that preserve the relevant cultural value.
